A RESPONSE TO COMMENTS BY JANICE.

Our Janice Perry was so unhappy with me by her comments in the last Foghorn and I understand from Florence Petris that several others had some of the same misunderstandings about my writing. I hope I can clear things up. In the first instance where I used the term, a “Mr. Nobody” when referring to the President it was not meant as a derogatory remark but more as a miracle in that he was really an unknown previous to running for president and who so successfully used the internet to be elected president. This was also in reference to my talks with our friend Dr. Paulson who about 10 years ago was considering running against Commissioner Bruce Woodbury who would be tough to beat and the internet would be the best thing going for Dr. Paulson. The second thing Janice commented on was about all “my troubles” with bonds, etc., etc. This again is wrong, I have no troubles, I used examples of means testing, taxes on bonds etc. that many of us are faced with and how Congress did all of this to many of we tax paying citizens. The last and most hurtful comment was telling me to “keep my racial thoughts to myself”. In all my adult years I have tried to help people, not destroy them. The board decided that in the future we will not print letters in the Foghorn.
PS:  IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION ON MY WRITINGS, CALL ME.

WHEN WE ARE OLDER WE NEED THE DOCTOR TO OK US TO DRIVE.
(Ken Mahal attained the age of 88 on April 6, 2009)

At age 71 and older we must have an eye doctor’s ok and a medical doctor’s ok to drive when renewing our driver’s license. What is also important is that the exams must have taken place no more than 90 days prior to the due date of your renewal. In case any of you are still that young (lucky you) keep this in mind the year the license will be due. You will have the option of sending your application in on line or you can go to the DMV office but if any of their offices are anything like the east Sahara office it seems to run at full capacity all of the time. This is when your old WWII injuries will be of some use to one by getting in the handicap line where you will move much faster. No I am not suggesting you cheat, but anyone still alive from that era is surely suffering from old hurts that makes you deserving of the handicap line.
